Refund policy

We build every kit ourselves before we sell it, and we want you to love yours. Here is how returns work.

30-day returns on unopened kits. If you change your mind, you can return any unopened kit within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price. The kit must be in its original, sealed retail box.

Opened kits. Because a book nook kit is made of hundreds of small pieces, we are not able to accept returns of opened kits. If something is wrong with your kit, we will make it right instead (see below).

Missing or damaged pieces. If your kit arrives with damaged, missing, or defective parts, email hello@nookandthings.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We will send free replacement parts, or a replacement kit if needed, at no cost to you.

Printed items. T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, mugs and totes are printed for you after you order, so we are not able to take them back for a change of mind or a size swap. Please check the size chart on the product page before you order. If a printed item arrives damaged, misprinted, or defective, email hello@nookandthings.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We will replace it at no cost to you.

Return shipping. For change-of-mind returns of unopened kits, you cover the cost of return shipping. If we sent the wrong item or your order arrived damaged, we cover it.

How to start a return. Email hello@nookandthings.com with your order number. We will reply within one business day with the return address and instructions. Please wait to hear from us before sending a kit back.

Refund timing. Once we receive and inspect your return, we will refund your original payment method within 5 business days. Your bank or card issuer may take a few additional days to post it.

Two-kit bundles. If you return one kit from a 2-for-$89 order, your refund is the difference between what you paid and the single-kit price of the kit you keep ($59), so $30.
